Our favourite weekend of the year is back for 2022! Now taking place over three days, CloseUp Festival (in partnership with Jagermeister UK) has returned with their biggest line up to date. Taking over Colours Hoxton again, the multi-room festival is set to bring us the best in new indie and electronic music. From 20th to 22nd May, there is only one place to be, and that is at CloseUp Festival.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with sets from our favourite Northern indie dreams, Bandit, with the band releasing their phenomenal new single Sefton in the Summertime at the start of this month, there’s no doubt that the boys will be bringing the crowds indie rock needs with them down to the capital for another mesmerising performance. Friday’s headline comes from Brighton’s own indie-pop trio ORCHARDS, hot off the back of their UK tour, the band have created a solid audience for themselves that sees them selling out their Brighton and London tour dates way in advance, which is nothing but deserved for the trio as their last EP Trust Issues was beautifully written from start to finish.
Saturday sees performances from the exceptionally good Mantaraybryn, who’s set to take the festival by storm with songs from his recent EP Year of the Heron, NP, ND! favourite Mollie Coddled will be providing all the indie-pop dreams for the crowd and sensational rising indie artist Havelock will be there to get the crowd fully into swing. Indie royalty King No-One finish off the days festivities with what is to be, without a doubt, an explosive and mind-blowing headline set.
The line up for Sunday has yet to be announced, but if the first announcement is anything to go by, we can expect CloseUp to pull something very exciting from their sleeves.
With last year’s festival selling out, there’s no doubt that this year will be the same, so make sure to grab your tickets as soon as you can.
